Cute Even At 2am

We had some pretty bad storms in the Queen City last night. Atalie woke up during a loud series of thunder around 2am, so I just brought that sweet babe into bed with us.  Whenever she would hear a loud pop of thunder, she would cover her mouth and say, "Uh-OH!" but I don't think I caught that gem of preciousness on video. She was being ridiculously cute, so I grabbed my laptop and let her watch herself on Photo Booth.

I don't mind at all being up in the middle of the night with this precious little bitty!

First Pool Day of 2011

 We ventured to our neighborhood pool this afternoon for the first time of the season!

 We were the only ones brave crazy enough to be there.

 It was fun and only a little moderately chilly.

It was 92ish degrees outside and 72ish degrees in the water.

 We are looking forward to lots more pool time this summer!

The Post That Shows You How Busy We Are

Guess where we went this weekend?  The prom.

The NCA Junior/Senior Masquerade!  Mercy it was fun. 

Except the part where I wore fake eyelashes for the first time.  

That was horrid and only lasted about 20 minutes. 

 Nate and I never went to the prom together in high school, so it was pretty neat for us for get dressed up and go together.  It was at the Speedway Club and we had a great time with our students. Our fun was just getting started because we went straight from the prom to a middle school lock-in!

We played kickball and volleyball and sardines 

and hide and go seek and all kinds of other fun stuff.  

 I think it gets harder and harder to recover from lock-ins the older I get.  I'm still tired!

Saturday, Nate went straight to the golf tournament without a wink of sleep and stayed all day.

I slept for a few hours and then the big girls and I drove to SC 

to pick up Bitty who had been there since Thursday.  

We only stayed a couple of hours because I wanted to get back on the road to NC before it got dark, but we got to see Grammy and Nanny for Mother's Day and we got to see Uncle Judi and Aunt Lindsay who were also there visiting!

Our time with these newlyweds is extra special these days because they are moving to Turkey for 2 years in just a few weeks.  We are excited for them as they begin this new adventure (Jordan is in the Air Force and is being restationed there) but we sure are going to miss them!

 Sunday, Mother's Day.... 

I'm so thankful I'm the Mommy to this little family!  

They are each gifts from God!

We went to church, ate Mexican, took a nap and then went to Carowinds (on a school night, people!) until it closed down at 8pm (we didn't have evening services).

I didn't take my camera but we took a few pix with the cell phones.

We have season passes, so you will get to see plenty of Carowinds pictures over the next several months.

Finally, we ended my marvelous Mother's Day and our busy weekend with a late supper at Cracker Barrel, where we may have dipped Bitty's "daci" in sweet tea to keep her happy since it was way after her bedtime.

Spring Break Beach 2011

We went to the beach for a few days over Spring Break last week.  We had a wonderfully relaxing and restful time! The weather was wonderful, the beaches weren't crowded and we loved just being together as a family.
