We had some pretty bad storms in the Queen City last night.  We ventured to our neighborhood pool this afternoon for the first time of the season! We were the only ones brave crazy enough to be there.  It was fun and only a little moderately chilly.It was 92ish degrees outside and 72ish degrees in the water. We are looking forward to lots more pool time this summer!

Yesterday, I put this OshKosh denim dress on Atalie to wear to church.  I wanted to take a picture of her in it since her sisters both wore the same little dress when they were her age, and I'm pretty sure my sister and I had one similar when we were little girls.  She was not a willing participant. This weekend we had a seminary family reunion!  There were five families and 13 kids (only 12 in this picture because one had already gone to bed)  hanging out, so it was a wild and crazy party. The big storm that came though Monday night took out the power at Northside for a few days. Atalie has been walking for a month now, and I finally got a decent video of her last night after youth group.  It's loud because she's in a huge room full of teenagers, but you can see how well she is cruising around. The Charlotte Ikea is about 3 miles from our apartment and less than a mile from the church. You wouldn't believe how deserted Ikea feels on a weeknight compared to a Saturday afternoon! So, we often visit just for lunch or supper. The Swedish meatballs and frozen yogurt are yummy, cheap and quick.It's just one of the many things we love about living in Charlotte!

Some of Atalie's nicknames (you know other than Bitty which she thinks is her actual name) are Baddy McBad and the Tasmanian Devil.  She's sweet as sugar, but ohmygoodness into everything. I put her in her perfectly tidy room with the baby gate up and went to switch out the laundry.  This is what I found when I came back less than five minutes later.

 Austin Kate had a last minute sleepover for her birthday.  I emailed her friends' parents and picked up some supplies a few hours before the girls came over. I was the first person to hold my baby brother, Ben, when he was born 24 years ago.  Now he is a married man.  My whole family traveled to Texas for the big day. After Rome we hopped on another train with our three kids and luggage and ventured to Venice!
